The last two weeks, we’ve dedicated our blog to covering the basics of SMS, focusing on SMS aggregators and the differences between A2P and P2P messaging. For good reason, too! SMS is among the most affordable, convenient, and efficient ways to stay connected with friends and family. Moreover, boasting open rates in excess of 98%, it’s also hands down one of the very best marketing outreach tools on the planet.

But today, we’re shifting our focus a bit. In this article, we’ll be discussing how Internet Mobile Communications (IMC), via Bank of Telecom (BoT), enables the buying and selling of voice routes. In this article, we’ll address the following:

  1. What is voice calling?
  2. What is the Bank of Telecom (BoT) voice offering?

Then, we’ll briefly outline how BoT facilitates the buying and selling of voice routes; and wrap up by touching on some of the value-added services (VAS) we offer.

What is voice calling?

We’ll be brief here, since “voice call” is essentially just a fancy way to say, “phone call.” Indeed, voice calling refers to the ability to call and converse with people in real-time using a telephone, smartphone, or other voice-enabled device.

Voice calling is typically transmitted over traditional phone lines or cellular networks. However, cloud communications technologies, like Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which facilitates calling via the Internet, are increasingly common.

What is the Bank of Telecom (BoT) voice offering?

Here at BoT, we enable the buying and selling of voice routes, which are used to facilitate voice calling over cellular networks. We connect our customers with more than 1,100 different carriers, who offer voice services across 130 countries.

With BoT, carriers, aggregators, and other traders can post their own routes and set payment terms and price scales however they like. Whenever a trader accepts an offer and an agreement is reached, the route will be tested and, if the test is successful, the trade will be approved.

Moreover, because rates are set according to the market, customers can rest assured they’re getting the very best deals on voice routes, no matter what.

Buying and selling voice routes with Bank of Telecom (BoT)

As outlined above, BoT works with over 1,100 different carriers and service partners to provide voice route options all over the globe. Our goal here is to ensure that our customers have access to the highest quality routes at competitive prices.

Indeed, the routes we offer vary in quality and type. For instance, we offer command-line interface (CLI) routes, non-command-line interface (NCLI) routes, routes that leverage time-division multiplexing (TDM/ORTP), etc. Route pricing is adjusted according to which of these qualities they possess.

It should also be noted that BoT tests each route to guarantee that, when it comes to quality, what you see is what you get. And, thanks to the Global Price Checker platform, we can keep track of all rates in real-time, meaning buyers won’t have to worry about gouging.

BoT also enables traders to sell unused or excess routes. And, while carriers, aggregators, and traders of all sizes are welcome to use BoT’s voice trading services, accounts with higher credit values will get an extra layer of security — they will be insured by our provider, Euler Hermes.

Furthermore, since we have account managers working across the globe, in a variety of time zones, accounts will be allocated accordingly. This means our customers can expect timely, round-the-clock selling support from our staff.

Bank of Telecom’s Value-Added Services (VAS)

BoT also offers the following value-added services:

  1. Global Voice Rate Checker — We collate all CLI and NCLI rates from our partners onto a single platform. This makes it possible for us to cross-reference global rates in a matter of seconds, ensuring competitive pricing.
  2. CLI and NCLI Voice Testing — To assure CLI and NCLI voice quality, we test all routes using Arptel. This service is automated and operates in the backend.
  3. Voice Traffic Cleansing — By blocking or blacklisting all invalid and short numbers, BoT can help improve the traffic profile hitting vendor routes, thereby improving route performance and revenue.
  4. Voice Transcoding — Voice transcoding helps build traffic volumes and revenue. With voice transcoding, customers can ensure all calls are transcoded to compatible codecs, thus improving their ASR value.
